Tools and tips for creating YouTube channel art
In the past, YouTube has provided a channel art template to help you find the right layout for your channel art and what it will look like on all platforms. Here is a preview of the template:

Using tools like Figma or Photoshop you can fully use the ideal dimensions mentioned above to create your channel art from scratch.
Nowadays, the easiest way to get up and running with your channel art is to join a free image maker like Canva or Adobe Spark. These tools have ready-to-go YouTube templates that you can quickly customize to your liking.
Here is an example of a channel art template within Canva:

2 top tips for YouTube channel art
1. Ensure that any text and logo are in the "safe" area
The text and logo safe area is 158 x 623 pixels in the center of the YouTube channel art template (see template above). This is the area that your channel will display on YouTube when viewed on the desktop screen.
Traditionally, parts outside the safe zone are at risk of being covered or outlawed due to social links or profile pictures.
Be careful to ensure that any important information such as branding, text, tagline and main images are in a safe place so that they are always displayed as part of your channel art on every device.
2. Consider your channel link
YouTube enables you to add links to your channel and these are displayed in the bottom right corner at the top of your channel art. For example, look at the bottom right of the channel art below:

When creating your channel art, it is important to think about the location of these links and ensure that there is nothing important (such as a logo) at that location within your design.
